Jalen Green, Fred VanVleet lead Rockets to first road win of season

Jalen Green and Fred VanVleet led the Houston Rockets to their first road win of the season, 114-106 over the Denver Nuggets.

The Houston Rockets defeated the Denver Nuggets 114-106 on Friday night for their first road win of the season. Jalen Green led the Rockets with 26 points and Fred VanVleet added 25. Alperen Sengun had 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Dillon Brooks scored 16 for the Rockets.

The Nuggets were led by Jamal Murray, who had 21 points, and Michael Porter Jr., who had 20. Nikola Jokic had 23 points and 16 rebounds, but he was 9 for 26 from the field.

The Rockets led by 25 points in the fourth quarter, but the Nuggets nearly came all the way back. They scored 18 straight points to get within 103-96, but the Rockets held on to win.

This was the Nuggets' first loss at home in 10 games. They have dropped three in a row, and Jokic has struggled with his shot in recent games. He is 18 of 59 over the last two games.

The Rockets were able to win this game because of their bench. They outscored the Nuggets' bench 39-18.

This was Houston's first road win of the season. They are now 1-9 away from home.
